Comcast and Alphabet Inc.’s Google Fiber, the world’s largest Internet provider, and Frontier Communications Inc., a leading cable and satellite television company, are teaming up to offer a bundle of broadband Internet access plans for less than $70 a month.
The offer is expected to be announced Tuesday and will be available to Frontier customers starting Jan. 13.
Frontier customers will be able to subscribe for a maximum of three broadband Internet plans per month.
The packages include an internet package for $70 per month; a phone plan for $50 per month, with data plans available for $60 per month and unlimited data plans for a monthly cap of $120.
The phone plan comes with unlimited talk, text and data and offers customers access to online video, streaming video and local video services, as well as video chat.
Frontier’s customers can choose to upgrade to the data plan at any time.
The plan will also include two wireless plans.
The monthly phone plan costs $70.
The plan for the Internet will cost $60 a month, which is the same price as the data package.
Frontier will also offer the phone plan to Frontier subscribers who also subscribe to Frontier’s $40-a-month “Internet at Home” plan.
The plans are priced at $40 for a single-user plan, $50 for a family plan, and $60 for a business plan.
Frontier and Comcast say customers can upgrade to any of the plans if they choose to.
Frontier has about 20,000 customers.
Google Fiber announced earlier this month that it is adding broadband access plans to the $70 price for the first time.
Google and Frontier will be offering customers in the San Francisco Bay Area $40 a month for a package of phone, video, online video and chat.
The package will include a mobile phone plan at $60, with up to four lines of mobile data for $30 per month per line.
Frontier says customers can also choose from an internet plan of $70 for a phone or a video plan of up to 100 megabytes per month for $120 per month depending on the number of lines of data.
The company said in a statement that customers can access internet for free at the home or office with an unlimited data plan that includes unlimited talk and text for $40 per month in addition to internet for $90 per month as well.
Frontier said it also provides customers with unlimited video for $35 per month over the phone, which it said includes high definition video, up to 10 megabytes of high-definition video and up to three simultaneous HD video streams at $45 per month each.
