BOSTON — The city of Boston may be the most wired city in America, but the other major cities are a step behind.
A new report from comScore says that the most-wired cities in the U.S. are New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Dallas, Houston, Atlanta and Miami.
ComScore used a metric called broadband availability to rate the cities, and the data suggests New York is the best wired city, ahead of Dallas, which was the mostwired city in the country for the first time in 2017.
Boston is the second most wired, behind only Washington, which scored a score of 99.9.
The report also suggests cities with higher broadband speeds are better at getting people online.
If you live in a city with better broadband access than New York, you’ll be able to get to the internet faster than New Yorkers with lower access.
In the top ten cities, New York ranked first, followed by Boston, Houston and San Francisco.
Among the most wireless cities, Boston ranked No. 1, followed closely by Washington, Philadelphia and Chicago.
The rankings are based on data from comStat, a company that analyzes broadband performance from several sources.
This metric is designed to reflect the quality of a city’s broadband network.
It doesn’t factor in network management or technology changes.
But it does take into account what you pay for, and how fast you pay.
ComScore measured broadband availability in five key metrics: download speeds, average monthly traffic, peak time and connection speed.
It took into account data from multiple sources, including mobile networks, cable and wireless providers and wireless carriers.
The five metrics are:The report said that New York’s fastest download speeds are in New York at 5.3 Mbps and its average monthly load is 14.7 GB, while Houston has the second-fastest average monthly download speeds at 4.7 Mbps and the third-fastgest average peak traffic at 11.1 GB.
The city with the second and third fastest average monthly peak traffic is Dallas at 16.4 GB and the city with highest average peak time is Boston at 4:20 p.m.
Movies are a big factor in these rankings, the report said.
New York has the fastest average movie download speed at 9.8 Mbps and San Franciscans have the second fastest average at 8.3.
Boston, however, has the lowest average movie movie download speeds of 0.9 Mbps.
As a result, it comes as no surprise that Boston ranks first in average monthly internet traffic, ComScore said.
The study also found that New Yorkers are getting their entertainment delivered faster than their peers in other cities.
The average download speed for people in Boston is 3.5 Mbps, while the average for people who live in New Jersey is just over 2 Mbps.
